Our Philosophy
Welcome to the Cottage Playhouse! It is our goal to work with you to make your child’s experience a positive and happy one. Early childhood is a time of great physical, emotional and intellectual growth, and the needs and interests of the children are our focus.
The Cottage Playhouse offers a unique and personalized pre school experience while maintaining a deep level of attention to each child. We combine teaching important life skills with pre kindergarten essentials and incorporate social and interpersonal skills with a variety of exciting extra curricular activities. We delight in observing children blossom and thrive in our nurturing environment!
Our Teachers
Mother-daughter duo Judy Gray and Michelle Sosa founded The Cottage Playhouse in 1999 with the dream of creating a warm and nurturing environment for children. They feel lucky to have touched the lives of so many during the past 22 years, and especially enjoy when former students come back to visit. In their spare time they enjoy learning about other cultures.
License
The Cottage Playhouse is licensed for twelve children by The State Department of Social Services. The teacher/student ratio is 1:6. All teachers and assistants are First Aid and CPR certified.
What We Offer
Curriculum
Over the years we have developed many successful curricular plans that we modify to meet the needs of individual students. Each month new and exciting curriculums are delivered and are added to our established programs to keep things fresh and current. Students explore both the time tested and new curriculum for a fun-filled learning experience and to help develop their fine and gross motor skills.
Arts & Crafts
Students begin their day at The Cottage Playhouse by creating and exploring different types of art. This gives the children an opportunity to express, invent, imagine, play, experiment, and develop all types of
“masterpieces”.
Classes
We offer a variety of classes (at no extra cost) which include Spanish, science, kindermusik, creative movement, and dance. Classes are subject to change based on teacher availability.
